Hi! I'm Jeff, and this is my new blog page about kayaking, fishing, and other outdoor related things. I live rural Northeastern CT, but I fish mostly out of Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay.
At one time in 2005, I used to have an outdoor-themed website called, "CORE860.com". On that website, I posted interesting trails to explore in CT, Jeep trail rides put on by our local Jeep dealership, and places that I've kayaked & fished. I also posted photos of where I've been and included photos that could be used as desktop wallpaper.
But I couldn't afford to keep the site up and running, and I wasn't happy with the limited options I was offered. I wanted to be able to add movies to my page and the page editor didn't allow for that.
Originally, I wanted to sell outdoor-themed shirts and decals. So, I opened up a premium account on Cafe Press, and now I have hundreds of custom made decals available for the outdoor enthusiast.
I then created a fan page for "CORE 860" on Facebook that I regularly update every few days. Since have a fan page on Facebook that's free, it's easier to maintain, and there's no withdrawal from my checking account. And when I add new photos, I can manage them through the use of individual photo albums, detailing where I've been, what I caught, and new decal designs that are now available in the Cafe Press store.
In late October 2011, I closed up my website for good, so I could focus on adding regular updates on Facebook.
Fast forward to now. On one of my other kayak fishing forum pages, I ran across a friend's web page that was powered by Google Blogger, which by the way, is free. I loved the way his page was set up, and all the different features he had at his disposal.
I'm looking to start over from scratch and try something new. I will include how-to's I've posted from other forum pages, places to kayak/fish - including parking options, town boat launch spots, and what baits/lures are hot right now. I have my own Facebook fan page page under my old website name, "CORE 860".
Currently, I'm a member of these forums/clubs:
The Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association (Kayak Committee member)
Hardcore Kayak Anglers Club
New England Kayak Fishing (under, "KayakFisher1967")
Ultimate Kayak Fishing (under, "KayakFisher1967")
Yak Dawgs
YakAngler (under, "KayakFisher1967")
Heroes On The Water
This is all new for me. If anyone has any tips to improve here, please let me know!
